Evaluation of Roegneria kamoji production performance and nutritional quality

  • Performance and nutritional quality indicators of 18 germplasm resources were comprehensively evaluated using gray relational analysis to select the Roegneria kamoji germplasm with excellent performance and nutritional quality. The results showed that the Yinchuan E4, Suihua E12, Jiamusi E11, and Qitaihe E8 fresh yield, and Suihua E12, Hohhot E13, and Jiamusi E11 hay yield were higher than those of the other germplasm materials. Therefore, they can be used as materials for increased grass yield. Suihua E12 had high crude protein content, low acid detergent fiber content, and excellent nutritional quality. Suihua E12 had the highest relative feeding value, followed by Yinchuan E18 and Qitaihe E9, compared with those of other germplasm. Xilingol E2 had the strongest stem and lodging resistance (P < 0.05). Based on the gray correlation analysis in the comprehensive evaluation of the production performance and nutritional quality of R. kamoji, can be used as key traits in the evaluation and selection of R. kamoji varieties. Suihua E12, Yinchuan E18, Jiamusi E11, Yinchuan E4, Huhehaote E13, and Qitaihe E8 had the highest correlation coefficients with standard strains and could be used for the improvement and breeding of new R. kamoji varieties.
