Exploration and practice of the curriculum construction for Forage and Turfgrass Seed Science based on the concept of “Three-Wide Education”

To build morality and cultivate talents through curriculum education, universities need to construct the curriculum system of “Three-Wide Education” for all staff, the entire process, and all related aspects. Forage and Turfgrass Seed Science is an important professional course for the major of pratacultural science in universities, and it plays an important role in the education of basic theoretical knowledge and practical production application technology in grass seeds. Based on the concept of “Three-Wide Education”, a preliminary exploration and practice were carried out in this article, which revolves around the importance of curriculum education, the objectives of curriculum education (professional knowledge, professional skills, and comprehensive quality), and the construction of curriculum education system (teaching syllabus, reference textbooks, teaching content design, teaching methods and processes, and education effectiveness assessment system). The curriculum educational elements were organically integrated into the professional knowledge and skills education and the assessment and evaluation process to give full play to the educational function of professional curriculum, and cultivate the compound seed professionals with solid professional knowledge, proficient practical skills, high comprehensive quality, and a strong sense of mission, which contributes to the revitalization of seed industry and healthy and high-quality development of grass industry.
