Research progress in plant phenology

Plant phenology refers to the natural phenomenon of plants showing periodic changes under the influence of the surrounding environment. To summarize the research progress of plant phenology and its future development, this paper first summarized the impacts of environmental factors such as climate and soils and their variations on plant phenology. This paper then compared the advantages and disadvantages of different research methods of plant phenology. Finally, this paper revealed the problems in the research and proposed potential solutions. Exploring the effects of environmental factors on plant phenology can improve our understanding of dynamics of plant phenology, species coexistence, and the stability of structure and functions of ecosystem in the face of climate change.
