Abstract
It is of considerable importance to understand the current situation of the development of pratacultural science in China by clarifying the papers published in the core journals of Chinese pratacultural science. This paper presents a bibliometric analysis of the papers published between 1979-2021 in five core journals of pratacultural science which are included in the Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD) from 2021-2022 by using CiteSpace software. The annual output of publications, the main researchers and institutions, the research topics, and the main publishing themes were examined. Representative auto auto-comppapers from the main publishing themes were also reviewed. The results indicated that the number of annual publications has increased significantly in the 21st century. The overall change in publications coincides with the development of graduate education in pratacultural science in China. Author cooperation and institutional cooperation have become increasingly close with the development of the discipline. Gansu Agricultural University and other four institutions are core publishing institutions in the journals, and the publications of Ren Jizhou, Han Jianguo have a higher level of influence. While continuing to study forage cultivation and feed processing, researchers have conducted targeted research according to the research focus areas and social demands in different periods. The main research fields of pratacultural science are included in the subject of the publications, which reflects the continuous improvement of the platform of pratacultural science research achievement and the system of teaching, scientific research, and personnel training in China. In the case of the state’s promulgation of a number of policies related to grassland ecological restoration, in future studies, researchers should continue to increase the research on grassland ecosystem protection, degraded grassland restoration, and the model of economic green development in grassland areas, to provide more intellectual support for the sustainable utilization of grassland in China.
