Study on the fermentation of alfalfa debris and juice

  • In order to utilize the debris and juice from alfalfa deep processing, their fermentation condition was studied. The results showed that it was easier for juice fermentation than debris; the fermentation could be accelerated by adding glucose and fermentation juice. But if the glucose concentration was higher than 2%, it had no obvious effect. The optimum concentration for juice and debris fermentation was 1% and 2% respectively. Increase of the temperature could improve fermentation, and the most suitable fermentation temperature was 35 ℃. For the 3 developmental stages (branching stage, blooming stage and podbearing stage) of alfalfa for fermentation, podbearing stage was the best.
