Causes of rock desertification and key issues of rehabilitation inkarst area of southwest China

Currently, the main measures to rehabilitate rock desertification were forestation, enclosure, watershed based comprehensive control and grazing forbidden. But all these measures failed to control the expansion of rock desertification because of the expansion of slope land for cultivation.Therefore,the key in controlling rock desertification are reducing cultivation on slope land,growing grass in slope land, intergration of agriculture,forestry and livestock husbandry,and perfecting agroecosystem.
